The Voice finale is officially underway on NBC and country superstar Jelly Roll will no longer be performing during tonight’s star-studded show.

Why Is Jelly Roll Not On The Voice Finale?

Longtime The Voice host, Carson Daly, revealed the news moments after the show started. He shared that Jelly Roll was scheduled to perform, however, he was no longer going to be there. Daly then revealed that the CMA New Artist of the Year will appear on The Voice finale next spring. After delivering the news, Daly shared a message directly with Jelly Roll, telling him that he hopes he feels better soon.

Jelly Roll also issued a statement on Facebook, confirming that he is sick.

“I was looking forward to performing tonight on the Voice, but I am extremely sick and unable to perform,” he wrote. “I’m sorry if I have disappointed anyone— if there was even a slight chance I could perform I would be on that stage tonight. The Voice has been kind enough to have me back in May next year and I look forward to giving y’all the best performance of my life. Thank y’all for all of your love and support!

Who Is Performing On The Finale Of The Voice?

The Tennessee native was scheduled to appear on The Voice Season 24 finale to perform his GRAMMY-nominated hit, “Save Me.” Other artists slated to appear on Tuesday’s finale include Earth, Wind & Fire, who will perform a medley of hits from their extensive catalog, which spans a whopping five decades. Keith Urban is making a special appearance to deliver his chart-topping “Blue Ain’t Your Color,” which has now amassed over 1 billion streams. AJR will perform a mash-up of  “Bang!” and “Yes I’m a Mess” from their new album, and Tyla will sing her Billboard Top 10 hit, “Water.” Dan + Shay, who will make their debut as coaches on the next season of The Voice, will make a special appearance to perform “Bigger Houses,” the title track of their latest album.

Huntley (Team Niall), Jacquie Roar (Team Reba), Lila Forde (Team Legend), Mara Justine Team Niall), and Ruby Leigh (Team Reba) are competing to win this season of The Voice, and the winner will be crowned at the conclusion of the show.

The Voice Season 24 finale premiered on NBC at 9pm ET. The show will be available to stream on Peacok the following day beginning at 6 am ET. Additionally, fans can also watch The Voice by logging into NBC.com with their cable providers.

Jelly Roll Recently Revealed He Was Sick

Jelly Roll recently performed a run of shows at iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball concert tour. On December 12, the “Need A Favor” singer admitted to feeling under the weather after playing a show in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

“Thank you Philly- that might have been the sickest I’ve been on stage in my life, but y’all made me feel so good! Love y’all- thank y’all,” he wrote on X.

While he appears to still be sick, Jelly Roll is still crushing things career-wise. He is currently sitting at the top of the Mediabase country chart with “Save Me,” his duet with Lainey Wilson, for the second consecutive week.

This marks his third No.1 at country radio in 2023 and with that, he tied Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen for the male artists to have the most No.1 singles on the Mediabase chart this year, according to U.S. Radio Updater on X.

In the new year, Jelly Roll will hit the ground running with a brand new single at country radio. Chris Owen, a country radio insider, reported that his new single will be “Halfway to Hell” from his debut country record, Whitsitt Chapel. The song was co-written by Jelly Roll with Jessie Jo Dillon, Matt Jenkins, and Jesse Frasure.
